Patrick explains: “This is a decision of mixed emotion for me.  As we enter a transitional period in commissioning with Birmingham, I believe it is the right time for me to hand on the baton of leadership to someone new.   I shall be sad to leave behind many friends and colleagues in Solihull but at the same time excited to have the opportunity to take on new challenges and opportunities.

I am leaving Solihull in the knowledge that together we have placed it on a stronger platform from which it can deliver a long term sustainable model of quality healthcare for all its citizens.  There is much to celebrate and I am immensely proud of all that we have achieved.”

Nick Page, Chief Executive of Solihull Council, is taking over as Chair of the Solihull Together Board with immediate effect.

Introducing Catherine Gulati, Care Navigator

Catherine care navigatorv2"Since starting in the role of Care Navigator in November 2016, I’m really enjoying getting to know people in their homes and finding ways to help them.

I’m based in two GP practices and they identify patients who are over 65 and need more support at home. By visiting the patients, I spend time learning about how they cope with many aspects of life; I also check their homes for fall risks, give advice on preventing falls, refer to specialist services and help people get to social activities.

Everyone has been very welcoming – the patients, their relatives, the GPs and the GP practices’ staff. With each patient, I’ve been able to give information and access to services that they didn’t know about before."
